Anyone willing to risk small bucks on these cheap chinese Rearsets?

I've mounted my chinese rearsets.
It's overall OK (I will send more info and tricks for installation later)
... except an interference on the brake linkage between the pedal and the master cylinder.

The first picture is in stand by position, and the second one when I press the pedal.

Honestly I don't like how this li,kage is done.
Maybe I did something wrong?
What's your experience?

Two things.

1. You are not using the correct end on the master cylinder push rod. There is is a heim joint that replaces the the stock fork.
2. Did you adjust the play out of the push rod?

I think I start to understand thanks to your comment.
Here are the remaining parts I have

The 2 big screws are because I use folding footrest, so these screws are not usable.

Should I use the Uniball link to the brake master cylinder instead of the original fork?

Not that it's mentioned but you need to remove the IMG_2074.jpgcastellated spacer and mount that in each side of rearsets mount. I made a tool from extra socket . working finishing up the job life and work have slowed down progressIMG_2076.jpg.IMG_2075.jpg

Where does the rear brake return spring upper end attach to?

The bottom loops over the exposed screw, but the other end?

Answering my own question - the "upper limit stop block" screw doesn't protude far enough out the back of the rearset plate so I'll be putting in a longer screw that will and then put a nylock nut on the end of that to better secure the spring. It doesn't really appear to be necessary but the factory setup does use it so probably worth retaining.

I wasn't sure that I would like the titanium color that you ordered but now that I see it on the bike, it really blends well with the motor & swing arm!

HI Guys,

After reading comment I went on to get those Chinese Rear Set. I am facing few issues with, so I don't know if I am unlucky or just stupid.

First, I got 2 bolds that are to long and I don't know what I am suppose to do with it. here is one of them
IMG_9505.jpgIMG_9506.jpg
Do they have a specific place ? can't find a logic to it.

Also got a big question about the castellated spacer : am I suppose to put it back ? No-one is mentioning this in the forum and if I look at this youtube video, the Guy mention it at the beginning but then nothing during the install.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmemOR3D9yI&t=1s
In this video, he don't speak about it at all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPkzpG_y74E

Also, on the gear side, i don't see space where to place the bracket for the Tyga Belly Pan.
Their is a space on the right side with this little hole.
IMG_9507.jpg

I also got some bold left :? are they extra ?
IMG_9508.jpg
And even one bold with no hole at the back of it !
IMG_9509.jpg
Really confused and a bit disappointed :( Got track day tomorrow and can't use them
help...
Cheers

Hello.
I"m not sure to understand but I will try to answer partially.
I installed mine last year.

About the 2 bolts, maybe one is used for the brake pedal spring, and 1 for the brake pedal linkage to master cylinder?

About the castellated spacer, I imagine you speak about what I would call the threaded ring around the swingarm shaft, you have to reuse the original one.
Put the bracket in place, screw firmly the 2 bottom bolts to the bike, then screw this ring until it touch the bike. No more.
The goal is to have a good contact between the brackets you install and the bike, and compensate the clearance.

I hope it helps...

Quick question about these rearsets--can they be adjusted to be lower than stock, or do they only go higher?

They are not so higher than original.
I think in low position we are at the same height than original position. (but not lower)

I can not figured out how do you place the bracket of the TYGA Belly Pan on the gear side?
I think it should be on one of the bold at the bottom but it will then leave space between the rear set and the frame of the bike :\

Anyone as a picture of Tyga Belly Pan + Chinese rear set please

Cheers

don't you have in the kit some spacers to put between the belly pan and the rear set?
From the rear set package: no

[Bold and nuts are just to symbolise the parts. At home now and dont have the correct bolts ;)]

-Here is where the long axel of the bike should go in
IMG_9517.jpg
-and here is where my bracket for the belly pan should go, but this will leave a gap and the bold won't be touching the rears anymore
IMG_9518.jpg
-so what about placing the bracket in between the rear set and spacer for the side stand ? I think this would make sense and leave clearance for the shif rod
IMG_9519.jpg

Still manage to put down the knees but pegs are touching as well and that not cool

Thanks to everyone in this great thread, I picked up these rearsets (with folding pegs).

Love them! And have already crash tested them at the track. To add another data point to what has been said, these hold up very, very well. All that happened to my set was a bent bolt attaching the rear brake peg.

However, I agree that the pegs are too short. Really screws up my body position. In part, it's because my Alpinestar boots are not super maneuverable.

Has any one found options for longer foot pegs?

I have been running these rearsets for some time now and the first issue I had with them is the left rearset where it holds the kickstand stripped out. The aluminum is not strong enough to support the bike in my opinion. I ended up cutting off the whole bottom of the OEM left rearset and made my own kickstand bracket. After some loctite, this setup is much stronger.
I still need to pull it back off and paint/powder coat where I made the cut and grinds but I would recommend this unless you want to machine your own bracket.
I'll try and get a picture posted later.
