Unless of course your race organization considers a RC390 Cup version as production? Its worth an email to the race director and then you have a suspension package you don't have to worry about. I know two dealerships in Cali that sold Cup bikes to the general public i.e. non-AMA license...
lol... maybe that tap is tax deductible? Thought I'd save my stock sets for a crash kit but the nightmare to change those PP rear sets out forget it. I'll just go home and drink.
Not impressed with the KTM P.P. rear-sets. If I'd known that B.S. threaded bushing got ran through a powder coated part ahead of time, i'd have looked for a different design. Fine Threads and Powder Coat DON'T MIX STOOPID! Who has a TAP that size or a "spanner" socket like that JUST laying...
Long lead items on my build; From KTM Power Parts... CUP Wind Screen/Upper Fairing two months, Tail Section and Lower one and a half months and I'm still waiting on Lever Guards. Ordered everything Mid May.
Brake Rotor, Pipe, Suspension, Rear Sets, Sliders all came rather quickly.
Snap! Hopefully there's gonna be a mob of RC's at CVMA this fall. I order all of my parts for the CUP build through the dealer in mid May. About 80% so far has trickled in and the wind screen just showed up today; still waiting on levers, lever guards and quick turn throttle.
I'm building my RC for the upcoming CVMA series as well, looks like we may meet in glorious battle this fall. The Ninja competition last race set the benchmark in the mid 1.59's, you think the RC can match that pace?
Yea, I'm in the same boat. CUP bikes are popping up for general public or it seems that way. Consolation prize - Street RC supposed to have tiny amount more Ponies than the "sealed" cup motor.
Yea, thinking about hitting this one up. Looks like Saturday is ALMOST full though and only A group with spots.
Are you signed up for a day/group? Is your bike stock?
I'll have to look at the caps again for preload, they didn't appear to have a spring adjustment there. Maybe its not a "normal" looking adjuster.
I'm willing to bet stocks with all the bits vs. Cup suspension won't be to far from each other performance wise. Cost however is huge! fml
Now I'm wondering if emulators, springs and cap adjusters of production forks might be the way to go. WP gives you Comp and Rebound but no preload. Gotta shim or swap the springs. Tubes are exactly the same so I don't think there's weight a advantage either way.
