    Random electronics wonkiness

Update: it's been 2 weeks since the dealer ordered me a new turn signal. I got antsy waiting and called today to see where it was, and they said they weren't expecting it for another week. So I went grumping out to the garage to take my bike apart. Tank cover off, right fairing off, and...

Fierce glare from the display in sunlight...

Well, if you want an interim solution while you wait for the KTM Display Hoody to hit the market, I can sorta recommend the antiglare film. I bought a cheap pack off of Amazon (3 sheets for the iPad mini, so bigger than needed and extras if you mess up); made a template by taping up my display...

    Frame Sliders

They look good; curious to know how they attach. Post when you get them installed!

LMAO. I think your reflector bit had an encounter with a hacksaw there, didn't it?

Hmmm. Wonder if the dealer is Dead Wrong.

    Random electronics wonkiness

Dealer has decided that the right front turn signal is bad. It apparently has a loose wire, because when they were taking it apart (as the last damn thing to check, because everything else was checking out OK) it suddenly came on, as did the turn signal icon on the dash. And just as quickly, the...

You can wear polarized sunglasses with a helmet visor? I can't; makes me motion sick O.o

Fierce glare from the display in sunlight...

I've noticed it too. Trying to find some anti-glare film for it, like they make for computer screens. Don't know how it will stand up to weather, tho.

    Random electronics wonkiness

Well, I disconnected the battery, took off the tank cover, and dug around in the fuses and relays. (Man is the space in there TINY. Even with my little hands I couldn't get anywhere near the fuses or half of the relays without taking off the tank cover.) The clock is now working again (it's...

    And one in New Mexico...

I did! They went on nicely, but it seems the brake lever now has a tendency to trigger the brake light... and the switch is not adjustable. Something else to figure out tomorrow. I might trim that boot on the clutch lever. Might.

I suppose there's some Zen lesson here about the riding experience being so amazing that time stands still... or just simply ceases to exist at all.

    Mileage (as in mpg/kmpl)

This is what I've gotten during my break in period (being very very good and keeping mostly to the under-7500 rpm recommendation.... but not entirely). This is both rural highways and city riding. I've been getting low-fuel lights at around 120 miles, but only needing about 1.7 gallons to...

    Random electronics wonkiness

Is anyone having problems with the instrument panel? I noticed that my clock was NOT accurate (running through about 2 hours every 15 minutes), and now it has actually stopped: at 4:44. This is not catastrophic, just an annoyance, but I will have to call the dealer on Tuesday and talk to them...

    Valve Adjustment

I got the bike back yesterday, and went over as well as I could without removing the fairings, and all seems to be as it should be (with a small exception, noted in the Electronics forum). But yeah, it was not a very confidence-inspiring experience. Next time, if I don't want to do it myself, I...

    Valve Adjustment

Just an aside, but my bike is getting its break-in service at the dealer right now (valves are a little beyond my skill. And patience). The Book says it's 2.5 hours for the service, including the valve check... but the service guy called me near the end of the day yesterday to say the bike...

    Riders age?

    44. The RC390 is the fun "Woo hoo!!!" bike option, and the BMW F800ST stays around for long rides and bike camping. I also have a raceprepped 1989 Honda VTR 250 that I'll be selling, now that I have the RC (since it can do street and track, and I don't really race).

    And one in New Mexico...

First farkle was spools and fork sliders; levers are waiting to go on once the bike gets back. I had to drill holes in my license plate to get it on the Euro plate mount. Details details....

    And one in New Mexico...

Hello all! My RC is in the shop for its break in service, and I'm treating my separation anxiety by reading all the posts in the forum. (Not all, but... most.) Didn't want to just lurk, so figured I should join :-) The forum has been a big help, especially considering that the bike didn't come...
