    A custom-made multitool or penknife

https://www.sogknives.com/blog/how-to-replace-components-on-sog-multi-tools.html Hmmm...got me thinking, I might just have to customize my own SOG. There are handier tools for access, but the SOG pliers are truly great.

    A custom-made multitool or penknife

I did read something about one of the multi-tool mfgr's which allows you to customize the tool selection--unfortunately, I cannot remember which one (SOG, maybe?).

    Did you ride today?

Hate it when they do that. Proper repaving is much better (but of course, takes longer and costs more...).

    Did you ride today?

Bit of a Sunday ride today. Rode the 390 to a Regional Fire Chiefs Association meeting this morning (I'm Deputy Chief at a rural volunteer hall). Found out in the parking lot that I'd passed one of the other Chiefs in his pickup truck...oopsy! (no harm done) Another Chief is a rider, he came...

    Dealer rant...

Actually, I know for a fact that they'd done at least one previously--and they've had that bike in the shop at least once since (bit of a story about that one, too). This is the thing--they ARE billing their actual time, not "book time" as stated by KTM. I was told that my service took less...

    Impromptu ride

No problem at all. I was riding directly behind the 675 a fair bit, and kept up just fine. Of course, it's not a race... :p

    Dealer rant...

Yeah, but they never actually gave me a written quote, only verbal. Like I said, with a set service (as this was), I'd expect a set price. Also, they didn't reset the clock (as I realized later while riding). As for removing the fairings--yes, I've done it enough times now I can get them off...

    Dealer rant...

On the plus side, just received my suspension goodies from Hard Racing--rear Ohllins shock, front Andreani carts. Will install once I'm back from a trip.

    Dealer rant...

OK, this is nothing too major, but... Recently, started getting the "Service Not Reset" notice on startup. Looked up the owners' manual online (I'm still waiting for a manual, never got one with the bike), saw that there's an "initial service" due around 1000 km. As my RC390 is a new bike, I...

    Front Rotor Runout

Yes, so far it feels pretty good--I haven't really noticed the ABS. Brakes are perhaps a bit weak, but the EBC pads should help with that.

    Saying Hi from Montana

Welcome. I've ridden in Montana a bit--some great roads there.

    Front Rotor Runout

Yeah, keep forgetting about the ABS. I've never owned a bike with ABS before; so far, it seems seamless; I'll probably leave it alone unless anyone can give me a good reason to bypass it. (Also, there's a way to turn it off temporarily, right?)

    Front Rotor Runout

Yeah, that's nice to know. Gonna have to look into that--got EBC HH pads on order right now (to run with the stock rotor), but I like the idea of the 320mm rotor. Used to practice endos on my Buell, because the 'Bolt will definitely lift the back end off the ground during emergency braking...

    Returning rider - Melbourne Australia

Welcome back! I went through the same kind of thing--rode in the 70s and 80s, took a 15 year break, then started up again just after the millennium. I happened across the same bike as the last one I'd owned in the 80s (Yamaha 550 Seca), and felt immediately at home on it. Bought my Buell...
