Well, it depends... FMRRA is club racing. Many of us are in tight budgets and have to go to work next Monday. We don't go 'kill or die'. We just try to have fun.
I'm in South Florida and I ride Homestead too. Everybody goes down from 6th to 3rd in turns 1-2 and nobody blows the engine. I really doubt he went into 2nd or 1st gear. It should have been something else.
Some tracks are like that. The only time I've to Jennings, about a month ago, I was told: 'You self tech your bike. You're responsible for your bike.'
It' wasn't an open track day though. It was a private event. I don't know if it's the same on a regular track day.
According to the Kelly Blue Book, the average mileage for a sport bike in US is around 2k miles per year, So I guess most RC390 in US have done less than 10k.
Anyways, I think mechanical problems on any vehicle with less than 10k miles should be rare. But on the RC seem to be the rule.
