FYI head gasket is being fixed by QuickCycles here in Colorado. the bike should be fully cleared from having gasket issues going forward . list price is now 5500.
hey green bread, i sent him a pm, as well as texted that number but i never heard anything back from him. is he still looking? that bike is still for sale
****GASKET IS BEING FIXED****
posting for a friend who is now the current owner of my old RC. this was a great bike when i had it, and the current owner has since put additional upgrades into the bike. he has decided to fix the gasket and build an FZ07R (he has always been a LWGP racer...
keep in mind the tire gets warmer when you start riding around. if your pressure is really high to start, it will only get higher as the ride progresses. then your tire wont conform to the road as much, leaving a smaller contact patch
thanks! i'm already having a blast on that yz. i think the motor had been built up cause it pulls harder than any other 450 I've ridden so far. i will say i'm a little worried about maintenance upkeep. but i am also excited to learn how to do a top end rebuild on a motor, as well as bottom end...
bad news bears. i just traded my RC this last weekend. had a absolute blast on this bike. not only was it my first race bike, but it was the first motorcycle i owned/rode as well. had a lot of great memories, but its time for me to continue learning and improving my skills on the track with a...
there could be a chance that considering how cheap the bike is, that one small crash and scratch could deem the bike a write off from the insurance. definitely check the frame though for obvious signs of bending. since the RC has no sub frame, that could be a deal breaker.
yes i did. it looks like the bolt just vibrated itself loose and backed out. the threads are all there. dang thumper engines and their vibrations!
got some blue locktite, so hopefully that does the trick and this doesn't happen again. that definitely would have been a pain if it happened during...
So Green Breads diagnoses was correct, that nut had back out inside the clutch basket. im gonna try and put everything back together tonight. does anyone know the torque specs of the bolts that squeeze the clutch pack together?
below is the bolt that backed out for future reference.
that sounds about right Green Bread. that would explain why the resistance lowered steadily throughout the day. the lever above the clutch was definitely moving in in its full range, so i don't think the lever cable stretched at all. we shall see what happens when open up the bike sometime this...
Hello Everyone.
i've never dealt with a motorcycle clutch before, so i thought i would pick some brains here before taking things apart.
i started feeling looser play in the clutch while at the track yesterday, and it kept getting worse. it basically felt like there was less and less...
