Bike dies during hard downshift to first

I thought I saw somewhere on here that cleaning the throttle body might solve the issue of the bike cutting out while downshifting(?). I only experienced it downshifting to first. I'm not sure if the issue would occur in other gears. Is there merit to taking the throttle body off and cleaning it or is the issue elsewhere?

It also dies if I let it idle too long (say after 5 mins). After the choke disengages it idles between 1.5K and 2K RPMs. Previous owner claims it did not have either of these issues, but reading some threads stalling seems to be a common issue. But I would have thought the WB2 would help compensate for some of this.
