Broken Turn Signal Switch - Options?

My turn signal swithc broke after 24,000 miles and 3 years. That's not a very long time for part to last. From what I can see, KTM doesnt sell the switch itself separate from the entire cluster. Do I have to spend $40 now because of this asshole little part? Does anyone know a way to get a hand on just the switch itself, hoping for $5-10? Trying to jerry-rig some sort of flat metal piece there as my own cheap fix, but it's a pretty specific fit and the whole thing requires quite a bit of force relative to its size, so whatever I rig up won't hold.

Anyone else have this happen, or any other cheap parts break on them?
