Crank position sensor wire

Good day everyone.

I'm trying to install the shift light pro on my RC390.

I think I found where the crank position sensor connector is.

But I'm not sure which wire is the right one which transmit the rpm.

Is it the green wire or black/yellow wire?

Could anyone let me know or take a photo to show it.

Thanks in advance.

Hello.
I recommend you to NOT use the signal from the crank sensor, because this signal is very sensitive and with a very variable amplitude.
I recommend you to take the wire from the ECU to the dashboard. this is reliable, and not so sensitive to the device you will connect.

FWIW,
There is a black wire that connects the ECU / Combo insturment / LCU -Lighting Control Unit together, it is pin 8 on the block connector to the combo insturment and pin 2 on the LCU which is easy to get to on the left side just behind the steering head, I believe it is the red module. This wire provides an analog voltage that represents the engine RPM.

Thanks a lot for your help! I will try to find out that wire.

But the information about the wire of RC 390 is very little.

It's very hard to know where the wires, connectors are.

Fasteddy, do you have the photo of that connector or wire?

If not, it's OK, thank you very much for telling where it is. I just hope to get a picture on it.

Anyway, thank you very much for you two's help!

Billy were you able to locate the black wire for rpm signal?

I am trying to solve the same problem so I can install a shift light that interprets RPM through induction. Don’t want to pick the wrong wire.

Did you ever get a picture of the wire.

Days ago, I successfully installed the shift light.

I tried the crank position wire in the past, but it never works. Finally, I connected the shift light to the black wire of ignition coil, and it works! It finally picked up the rpm signal.

If you want to install the shift light, you can connect to the black wire of ignition coil, it will receive the rpm signal.
