Hi Guys,
i just bought a used RC390 with about 12000 km on the odometer. 2 years old but still the 2015 version, one previous owner and 'full service history'.
According to the service history the valves were never even checked, also the rubber mat and all the stuff around the engine looked like never touched.
When i took it apart intake was 0.08 mm and 0.09 mm, which i might just leave as is but the exhaust were both between 0.10mm and 0.13mm so i'll put a smaller shim in.
The weird thing though is what shims came in it, i thought factory shims come in 0.05 mm steps but mine are different.
The marking on the installed shims is barely visible so i checked them with a micrometer, they are 2.60, 2.57, 2.52 and 2.55 mm.
I think 0.03 mm decrease in thickness would be a lot, would also mean two shims wore down 0.03mm and the other two either 0.05mm or not at all.
Also whats left of the marking corresponds to my measured thickness, looks like 2.x0, 2.x8, 2.x2 and 2.x6 mm.
