The piston has three rings and a circular wire (looks a bit like a spring). Anyone know where the wire gets installed? I'm thinking it goes in the gap of the bottom ring, but it doesn't want to stay there, so I'm wondering if it goes somewhere else? Thanks, Mike

What’s the cause of the blown gaskets? Is there any check that could be done to prevent it? It looks like when it happens the damage is all over, cylinder, piston, valves, head. Does anybody know the estimated cost of rebuilding the engine from that?
