Thanks for the answer. My mistake. I just pulled the handlebars for access and used a socket (actually it's 17mm) on a T-handle to count turns; both adjusters stop correctly. I must have lost count (and patience) when I was getting only 1/6th of a turn at a time. Took me maybe five minutes...
Hi all,
I have just had a set of Andreani cartridges installed on our 390 Duke. There was no user manual included, and the preload adjusters are not what they look like. In spite of having lines on the outside, they don't move up and down when you turn them.
I found a post on a FZ site...
I found the same thing on my installation, that one connector would not click tight. But now I have a bunch of connectors that can't be tucked back where they belong, especially at the left front. These bikes are packed really tight, not much extra room.
When I hooked up my laptop and ran the...
I just got one for our Duke, and am thinking of trying it out as-is too. I weigh about 165 pounds in full gear, and my wife (it's her bike) 15 less. But I intend to run it on the track, and Racetech is ten miles away so a rebuild and new spring might be in order. Also they offer a threaded...
Sounds like nothing to do with the electronics, more likely something mechanical such as the solutions mentioned before. Dies when put into gear? Could be the sidestand switch, too. I'd try removing the Bazzaz EFI first, though.
According to HardRacing, a vendor on the 390 Duke Forum, the stock muffler weighs 13 pounds. So not much weight savings, and a potential reduction in steering response by moving weight away from the center of the bike. Sounds better than HR's 2-1/2 pound shorty, though.
Carlos, that info is in the Owner's Manual. The list of required checks and services is quite long, The mechanic at the dealer where I took mine had never done a 390 before, so he spent some time studying the manual online. The basic service, including checking the valves, was a bit over $300...
Absolutely! There is a special, low grade break-in oil in there. It's turned into sludge by now. Any decent synthetic 15-50 will do.
I paid $600 for my first service, as the mechanic spent some time studying the manual online and they charged two hours labor to change two shims. Reason...
Exactly. This track has been in operation for 40+ years. We don't have enough tracks here as it is. And the D390 is pretty much the perfect bike for it! Too bad for the RC riders, as their insurance stipulates "no fairings..."
My avatar pic is from 1998, at that track. And as for the wheel...
They took a report, and said they "would help me with a tire..." But (a) I signed a release and (b) ultimately its me that holds the handlebars. I'll heal. And I'd rather help them fix the problem, not call a lawyer. A bit of red paint would help....
BTW I had my biggest off in 50 years of...
Hi All, I'm looking for a new front wheel for my 390. I've been told that they will not be available until end of October, does anyone have one they can sell me or know of one in stock somewhere? Or I'll replace it once I get the new one next month. Did this at a local Kart track...
