Get the PowerParts seat first over any other upgrade. It'll make a world of a difference that you'll notice from the time you saddle up until you dismount. Then do the brakes/fluid, and coolant switch to Engine Ice. I put the seat as a priority upgrade simply because it's the one main--if not...
It's a 390. Shoulda known that before buying it. Ride it, enjoy it, and have fun doing it! You'd be surprised how well this thing handles. This thing is a surgical track weapon when a good rider is at the helm. I saw another rider lapping dudes on his track prepped RC.
I second this. I run EBC HH sintered pads front and rear with Bel-Ray Super DOT 4 fluid on my bike. It was a phenomenal difference and I didn't feel any brake fading on the track. Definitely change your fluid and pads. Brembo brakes are nice but outside of motorsports, they've grown to become...
My local shop wanted $1100 parts and labor. I said eat dirt and did the oil myself and waiting for a moment that I have the spare time to do the valve clearances.
I bought mine in the last few days of February and got the vouchers in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I think it's up to KTM and how far back you bought the bike.
I wouldn't know the quality of Austrian made ones, except for their dirtbikes and even that is limited experience. I can't complain about my 2015 yet haha.
I thought all US Spec 390s were Indian made. I still consider the 390 an Austrian bike, just how Ford and Chevy are still American [assembled] but manufactured in foreign countries (with exception to a very few models).
If I feel anything out of the ordinary, I'll up the viscosity. I don't ride much now since I enjoy driving again now that I have my dream car. For the short term, this viscosity isn't bad. Long term hard running, yes it can thin out to the point where parts can prematurely wear out. As for...
Well I finally did it! I'm surprised the bike started after 3 weeks of sitting. Flushed and filled with Amsoil and had some crazy flakes in my filters. I didn't get to flush my coolant and run Engine Ice since I left my distilled water in my wife's car and I rather not go buy another gallon lol...
Just got my oil yesterday. Still waiting on my filters. I'm hoping to do my service this weekend if I get those filters in! I haven't ridden in almost 3 weeks :(.
I don't think I'm going to do the 15k interval or whatever that Amsoil stands by. At least not until maybe the third or fourth change. If all the crap that comes out during this first change will still be there afterwards, I rather not risk it. "But why get Amsoil then?" Well...I believe in...
I talked to my friend who's an Amsoil dealer. He suggested the 10w40 for Metric bikes and swears by it. He's been running it in his MV Agusta AMG F38RC without any issues. I went ahead and ordered a gallon and a filter kit.
