so I was torquing all the bolts on the bike after a longer ride. I got all of it torqued and then I saw the little brass nut on the side stand. Tried to torque it, and I broke it off. Sad panda. I saved it. I figured it was a stop for the stand to not go up to far. Tried it, and it worked...
