I was trying to adjust my valve clearances after finding that both intake and exhaust valves were tight.
I ordered some 10mm hot cam shims and fitted them.
I found the clearances got even tighter in the intake side while I fitted thinner shims.
The original shims have rounded edges and i found out the new shims sit on the shim bucket/holder edge instead of on the valve directly(I tested this by putting a thin layer of grease in the valve and it did not stain the new shims while it did on the old ones).
Does anyone know if I can buy the older rounded shim anywhere?
It seems they are not being used anymore.
I also tried grinding the edges down on one of the hot cams shims.
It fits now, but could this cause the shim to break under load?
I would appreciate any input.
