Setting fork oil level.

I see a few threads on this but I want to get the correct answer. I see people putting anywhere from 400ml-460ml (recommended) in each fork leg. I also know that setting the oil LEVEL is more accurate.

Whats the correct oil height from the top, compressed, springs out?

Hi,
I want to service my fork soon, i need to check it for myself.
I can tell you that after filling 460 of 10w oil, the fork is like a brick. I got out 60ml and i could bottom out the fork by hand. Added 10ml more and seems like the fork is in it's best right now.

Update,
Winter came. The 10w is making the fork to move too slow. Also, i found that with 410cc the fork got bottomed out.
I put 420cc of Putoline 5w, looks perfect for mow.

Update #2
5w of Putoline seems like too fast. Need to go to 7.5.
420 cc left me 1cm of travel after i got the rear wheel in the air while braking.

Im 100kg in leathers and am running 20w motul, 400ml volume. which from memory about 145-150 mm from the top with 15ml preload spacer, standard springs
Cartridges would be the next option for me but for a budget fix, I like this setup for track riding/racing.
