I took the side stand off. Removed the sensor, and unscrewed the magnet. Then I unplugged the cables and rerouted them. I super glued the magnet to the sensor and electrical taped it all together. I had to resplice the wires together to shorten the excess slack. It's horribly fugly but once I zip tied it out of the way, you can't tell. I can easily unplug this setup and connect a resistor later. (Once I have diagrams and pictures and Fasteddy to do it for me.)
