Context: I have 2017 KTM RC 390 with Dunlop Q3+ and Puig metal valve stems (https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-90-degree-valve-stems). I use Woodcraft tire warmers and run 32-33 hot in the front and 26-29 hot in the rear. I have done more than 20 track days with two sets of Dunlop Q3+ and...
From the ninja 400 forums, user C Dolan:
The vibration issue and the more upright riding position would have
me favor the Kaw, especially if I was riding more than 100 miles nonstop.
Both handle well, but the KTM rear rim is way too narrow for its
150 rear tire. Slid the ass end a lot...

So I'm new to the RC 390...I bought one off the showroom floor 0 miles...Well that was last week. I've since put 170ish miles on it and today I noticed that while riding it seems washy...Almost as if the tire was bald. Any info as to why it feels this way? Is it normal?
I figured I would have come across this in earlier threads, but no such luck. So here is the situation.
The Metzler Sportec M5, size 110/70/17, has been discontinued. They offer a 120/70/17. I have been very satisfied with this tire and would like to stick with it. I'll need to have a...
Before I get blasted for running a 160 width on this bike, this is an amazing tire even if its not meant for the street. I mainly use my rc390 for fast mountain runs (I live in east TN, PLENTY of awesome places close by) and occasional trips to the city. I started to break in this tire today and...
Just an FYI to those of you on a budget or like doing track days, I purchased a set of these tire warmers and they are excellent and a steal of a deal as wel
l.
they can be found on svracingparts.com. Blair Layton had them out to me over the weekend and I tried them on last night, perfect fit...
I am considering a 120/70 Bridgestone RS10 front tire. The tire guy has indicated that he supplies many racers with 120's for 200's, 250's, 300's and RC 390's. He said that the RC 390 owners prefer this to the 110's and it should not change the bike geometry.
The same applies for the Dunlop...
Just ordered captive wheel spacers and a few other things from fastfrankracing.com ... any first hand experience? This stuff looks like it may make tire changes much easier...

In no particular order, I've found these things to eliminate a lot of the vibration people complain about:
1.) Change the oil (too much oil seems to contribute to vibrations)
2.) Lube the axles/bearings
3.) Adjust/Check the exhaust valve clearances
4.) Tighten/Adjust chain tension
5.) New...
I apologize if this is a stupid question. But is there a way to put some meatier tires on the stock wheels? Or a way to put a wider after market wheel and tire on the back? I don't race, just ride on the street, and the bike is amazing looks wise, the only thing that bothers me is the size of...
What are some setups being used? And where did you find yiur sizes? Im having a tough time on my normal go to tire sites. And then even saw a 150/60 Rear,V rear, 66W.
Just out of curiosity...read some of the prior threads about tire sizes and a lot of them haven't been updated recently. With being able to keep the performance on a 150 tire size...will a 160 fit on our bikes with the same/similar performance? thanks
